AP Home Minister flags off riot control vehicle Vajra
06 August 2019 Current Affairs: Arunachal Pradesh State Home Minister Bamang Felix flagged of Five Anti-Riot police vehicle.It is known as ‘Vajra’, from Police Headquarter in Itanagar.This is the first set of anti-riot vehicles introduced in the state police department.The vehicles have special features for quick response, automatic multi-barrel launchers for tear gas. It has a capacity of 12 persons and a battery backup for long hours.
Centre moves J K Reorganization Bill a resolution to revoke Article of Jammu and Kashmir
05 August 2019 Current Affairs: The Government of India announced repealing Article 370 and introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019 in the Rajya Sabha on 5 August.
This will now repeal special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The resolutoin was passed by Home Minister Amit Shah in the upper house. The aborgation of Article 370 will make J&K an integral part of India.
President Ram Nath Kovind was awarded the National order of Merit
President Ram Nath Kovind was awarded the National order of Merit by the President of Guinea on 3rd August. This is the highest award Republic of Guinea by African government.
He was honoured for his exceptional contribution to the advancement of overall relations and development of mutual cooperation between India and Guinea. It also recognised his efforts for promoting friendship and partnership between the people of both the countries.
Global Big Data software market will reach billion by Forbes report
Forbes reported that the global Big Data software market will have 14% of growth worth $31B in 2019. Earlier, the market was estimated at $23.56 billion in 2015 and is expected to reach $118.52 billion by 2022. Big data: Big data describes a huge volume of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data. It has the potential to be mined for information. It can be used in machine learning projects and other advanced analytics applications.
DRDO successfully test fired QRSAM Missile
The Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully test-fired an indigenously developed Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) from a mobile truck-based launch unit from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur, Odisha. It is an all-weather and all-terrain missile type. QRSAM missile has been developed for the Army. The entire mission was tracked by various electro-optical tracking systems, radar systems and telemetry systems.
Ex Google man restoring India s water bodies
Chennai-based environmentalist Arun Krishnamurthy worked at Google and launch an eco-movement that has cleaned and restored at least 93 freshwater bodies across 14 Indian states. The community-led movement grew into the Environmentalist Foundation of India (EFI) it is a non-profit wildlife conservation and habitat restoration group. They removed garbage and harmful botanical species from these lakes and ponds, that are crucial for maintaining the ecological balance of nature.
Gujarat government launched Vhali Dikri Yojna
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani launched the ‘Vhali Dikri Yojna’ from his hometown Rajkot, Gujarat. The scheme is introduced for the welfare of the girl child. The meaning of this scheme is Dear Daughter Scheme. The main details about this scheme is stated before. Vahali Dikri Yojana is launched to improve the sex ratio of girl child in the State. The successful implementation of this scheme State government allocated a budget of Rs 133 Crore.
ISRO to get Space Situational Awareness Control Centre in Bengaluru

Reserve Bank of India imposes crore fine on seven PSBs for violating norms
05 August 2019 Current Affairs: The Reserve Bank of India imposed a penalty of ₹11 crores on seven public sector banks for violating norms on current account opening.The banks which includes Allahabad Bank and Bank of Maharashtra have been imposed a fine of ₹2 crore each, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank and United Bank of India have been slapped with fines of ₹1.5 crore each, while Oriental Bank of Commerce has been imposed with a penalty of ₹1 crore.The penalties have been imposed in exercise of the powers imposed in the central bank under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.It is based on the deficiencies in regulatory compliance and is not intended to pronounce upon the validity of any transaction or agreement entered into by the banks with their customers.The oral submissions made in the personal hearings and examination of additional submissions.
RBI imposed a fine of ₹1 crore on Corporation Bank for non-compliance of norms related to cyber security framework for banks, and frauds classification .
State Bank of India and Shanghai becomes first Indian bank to link up with CNAPS
State Bank of India’s Shanghai branch linked to China’s National Advanced Payment System (CNAPS).
It is the first Indian Bank to operationalize it. The CNAPS, launched in 2008 by the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) provides real-time settlement services for all payments cleared in China. The CNAPS system is complemented by its international counterpart, the CIPS (China International Payments System or Cross-Border Interbank Payment System) launched in 2015.
ICMR introduces new TB vaccines VPM and Immuvac
04 August 2019 Current Affairs: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) launched a trial for two new TB vaccines. This is India’s first large-scale trial. This is a large preventive TB vaccine trial. The initiative involves more than 12,000 healthy household contacts of newly diagnosed TB patients from across six states of India are set to be enrolled.
Two thousand participants from each of the six states including Delhi, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana and Karnataka will enroll over the next seven to eight months. Also, seven main centres will have six sub-sites, where these trials will be conducted.
IIFL Finance to raise up to crore through bonds
06 August 2019 Current Affairs: IIFL Finance will raise up to ₹1,000 crore through a public issue of bonds The main or the purpose of business growth and expansion.
The bonds will offer yield of 10.5% per anum for tenor of 69 months and 10% for shorter tenor of 15 months for the secured category, the non-banking financial company (NBFC)
The UK-based CDC Group-backed IIFL Finance will issue secured and unsecured redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDsaggregating to ₹100 crore, with a green-shoe option to retain over-subscription up to ₹900 crore (aggregating to a total of ₹1,000 crore)
The lead managers to the issue are Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd, IIFL Securities Ltd, ICICI Securities, and Trust Investment Advisors Private Ltd.
